Das Boot

Recently, I watched a movie called Das Boot about German submariners in World War II. It describes the ordeal faced by the crew of one particular submarine called U96. It is fairly long and took about 3 hours if I'm not wrong, but it was a really nice movie.

It builds up slowly and there are parts which appear to be too slow at times. However, the end is totally amazing. The last scene when the crew arrives back in the dock, and is being welcomed back is extremely moving. You think everything is going to end up happily, and then suddenly everything turns on its head. There is a surprise ending, but I will not spoil it for you.
